Brooklyn goes to 'Money' Mayweather. |
McGregor made an instant impact in his mink jacket as he made his way to the Barclays Centre stage. August 26th opponent Mayweather then made his way to the stage after 'The Notorious', with both men squaring off as tradition from the previous two meetings. Presenter Brian Custer addressed the audience at around 1:45 am Irish time, welcoming everyone to the event in Brooklyn. Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza took the podium and was heralded with jeers from the Brooklyn crowd, as he attempted to hype the upcoming coverage of the broadcast. UFC President Dana White then introduced Conor McGregor, who immediately shouted out Biggie Smalls before continuing his onslaught on opponent Mayweather. McGregor then handed Floyd the new Jay-Z album the '4:44', before confronting the racist claims thrown against him. McGregor once more took on Stephen Espinoza of Showtime, telling them to 'turn on the air conditioning'. Leader of the Mayweather promotions Leonard Ellerbe welcomed Floyd to the podium, with the Detroit native once again engaging with the fans with the chant of 'hard work'. Floyd then targeted McGregor, calling him 'easy work' and a 'quitter'. Mayweather then began to throw dollar bills into the air, with Conor telling how the notes were 'ones'. Conor then urged Floyd to 'take the high heels off'. Mayweather once again highlighted that Conor was a $3 million fighter, while he was a $800 million fighter. 2-1 to Mayweather so far heading into London for the final meeting.
