Yancy Medeiros lands major left hand to stop Erick Silva:

A Welterweight meeting between Brazil's Erick 'The Tiger' Silva and Hawaii native Yancy Mederios opens the main card of UFC 212, as the latter looks to extend his Welterweight win streak to two, after his move from 155lbs. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu matchup may await for the hugely established grapplers. Expect an explosive start from both men.

Eduardo Herdy was our man in the middle tonight as the opening of three rounds began with a decent body shot from Hawaii's Medeiros, with Erick Silva moving to avoid the shots of Yancy. Decent striking exchanges throughout the opening round for both men, with Medeiros dropping Silva with a left shot before Silva landed a big knee towards the buzzer as Medeiros spiralled away. Good opening round for both men.

The second got started with Silva targeting the body of Medeiros with the Hawaii Welterweight firing back. Some slick boxing from the Cesar Gracie star Medeiros as Silva replied with a combination of his own. A huge left hand smashed Erick Silva as referee Eduardo Herdy stepped into stop the action. Fantastic shot from Medeiros.
